Heating With Solar

WSE is proud to introduce our solar heating system designed and manufactured in Canada for Canadian climates. We designed it to work in Saskatchewan so it will operate anywhere.

Heat any building economically and reliably using WSE Technologies solar collection system.

How does it work?

As the sun shines on the solar heating panels, water inside the high efficiency glass tubes is heated. The small solar panel provides electricity to the pump which circulates the hot water from the panels outside to a dissapator inside your building. The heat generated from the panels is released into your building through the dissipator. As the amount of sun decreases, the solar panel provides less power to the pump, and as a result circulates the water more slowly, ensuring that the maximum amount of heat is collected by the heating panels.

Why Heat with Solar?

Current Energy costs

Natural Gas   $12 per gigajoule

Electricity     $36  per gigajoule

Please note this is does not include cost to convert this to actual heat in your building, so another 20% additional cost for conversion would be reasonable

Each WSE47 produces 5 gigajoule per years, with a 20 year life Cost  $3.5 per gigajoule

Each WSE58 produces 6 gigajoule per years, with a 20 year life Cost   $8 gigajoule

How we arrived at solar energy costs

Each WSE47 produces 2,200 btu/hr times 8 hours per day , 364 days and operating at 75% of  maximum capacity.WSE produces 2,700 btu/hr

Please note that our solar collectors operate at 75% efficiency on mildy cloudy days and approximately 50% on cloudy day

Installation

WSE sells this system as a kit, but would be happy to help you get your system up an running.

Kit

3 WSE47

1 25 watt solar panel
1 FL2201 pump

1 Dissipator/heater

Solar Heat Your Home

This is a low cost solution to solar heating your home. Using the WSE47 solar collectors and the dissipators as a heater you have a great heating system for under $2500.

Example   5 only WSE47 20 tube collectors  info link

This will give you about 72,000 btu per day based on 8 hours of sun shine

1 only FL2201 Compact Diaphragm Pump  info link

The system can actually work totally off the sun, by incorporating a 25 watt panel to drive the pump. When the sun shines the system will pump and heat is transferred through the dissipator heater

1 only 25 watt panel                    info link

1 only dissipator ( heater)          info link

Please Note -Non- Pressurized System WSE 47 panels…this system does require some tinkering as it requires an overflow reserve and venting due to pressure building within the system during the day. Similar to your vehicle’s cooling system the SWE 47’s will expand the fluid level during heat peaks and  bring the fluid back into it’s system during the lower temperature in the night.

Example

4 only WSE58 evacuated 20 tube system      info link

Output 90,000 btu based on 8 hour day

                      18 liter Expansion tank

 Optional Equipment

Dissipator and 3 way valve         info link
